François Guimont – Director, Board of Directors of the Institut du Savoir Montfort  

François Guimont brings to the Board of Directors of Institut du Savoir Montfort (ISM) recognized expertise in governance, strategic management, and leadership, acquired in both the public and private sectors. He holds two master's degrees in science (civil engineering and water sciences), a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Ottawa, and a certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), which gives him a solid understanding of the scientific issues and realities specific to research and educational institutions.

Throughout his career, he has held senior management positions in several government agencies, including Public Safety Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. He also contributed to the creation of the Canada Border Services Agency, oversaw major environmental programs, and led initiatives related to toxic substance management, air quality, and climate change. His career has led him to manage large budgets and orchestrate significant organizational transformations.

His keen interest in health sciences, combined with his commitment to innovation and academic excellence, make him a valuable contributor to ISM. He fully embraces ISM's mission, which is to advance health knowledge and practices from a Francophone, interdisciplinary, and humanistic perspective.

Very involved in community life, Mr. Guimont has served on the board of directors of United Way Ottawa and currently serves on the Board of Governors of the University of Ottawa, where he is vice-chair and chair of the executive committee. He is also involved in the governance of the MacDonald-Laurier Institute and the Old Ottawa South Community Association.

At the request of the Clerk of the Privy Council, he led the Government of Canada's Workplace Charity Campaign. He was appointed Deputy Minister Champion of the National Community of Public Service Managers and Relations with the University of Ottawa. His commitment and leadership have been recognized with several awards, including the University of Ottawa Alumni Association Award of Excellence and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.

Through his expertise, leadership, and strategic vision, François Guimont actively contributes to advancing the priorities of Institut du Savoir Montfort and promoting its influence in the Canadian Francophonie.
