Biography

Alexis H Truong is the Deputy Director at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Citizenship and Minorities (CIRCEM) and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of Ottawa. A sociologist and social worker by training, his work primarily focuses on the mental health of vulnerable or marginalized populations, including young people and women with psychiatric issues who have also experienced gender-based violence. He also works on popular culture, social intervention, and research methods - including participatory approaches in research and mixed methods. He is also a co-host of the podcast series "Uncommon Sense," produced and broadcast by The Sociological Review.
