Biography

Chantal Backman RN, MHA, PhD holds a PhD in Nursing Sciences from the University of Alberta. She is a tenured professor at the School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa and the director of the Research Center on Innovations in Elderly Care. (icare). Professor Backman's research program aims to improve the quality of care, patient safety, and the experience of elderly individuals within the healthcare system, with a particular focus on minority language populations. She uses various methods, including administrative databases on population health, mixed methods, and implementation science.
