Biography

Dr. Cléo Mavriplis has been practicing family medicine for 40 years and has held several teaching positions at the University of Ottawa and McGill University. Among her leadership positions, she served as Associate Dean of Teacher Education at the Outaouais Campus, McGill University, from 2019 to 2023. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa and an Associate Professor at McGill University. Throughout her career, she cultivated a passion for preventive medicine, public education, and training learners in health sciences. She is the founder of the only free bilingual digital resource for the public and clinicians based on evidence.

Research interests

• Evaluate the experience of the public and clinicians with the web application in its current state
• Form partnerships with certain vulnerable target communities in order to develop the application based on their needs (Francophones in minority situations, Indigenous peoples, residents in rural areas, the public without primary care clinicians)
