Biography

Dr. Gaelle Bekolo completed her training in Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa, in the francophone component offered at Montfort Hospital. She has a keen interest in medical education and in promoting health equity. She is a lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where she is affiliated with Francophone Affairs and the Department of Undergraduate Medical Studies. Through research, she aims to evaluate the role of minority status in medical education and the accessibility of medical studies for ethnic minorities. She practices as a family physician in the Ottawa region.

Research interests

• The quality of medical training for ethnic minorities
