Dr. Geneviève Rouleau, Ph.D. nurse, is a professor in the nursing sciences department at the University of Quebec in Outaouais. She holds a PhD in nursing sciences from Laval University. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care in Toronto, focusing on implementation science. Her experience as a research coordinator (16 years) at the Chair in Research on New Nursing Practices has led her to participate in the development of more than a dozen virtual nursing interventions aimed at supporting individuals in the self-management of their chronic health conditions. Through these personalized web interventions and short video clips, she has embodied the role of a coach, that of a virtual nurse supporting individuals asynchronously in adopting healthy behaviors (e.g., medication adherence, physical activity, smoking cessation). His doctoral studies allowed him to develop a numerical simulation aimed at optimizing the relational skills of nurses, based on the principles of motivational interviewing. His research interests focus on: the development and evaluation of individuals' (patients and healthcare professionals) capabilities to act, the use of digital health and training and its impacts on care and learning, the interface between digital technologies and relational aspects, including the concept of digital compassion, and implementation science.
