Biography

Jean-Daniel Jacob holds a PhD in nursing sciences from the University of Ottawa. He is currently an associate professor at the School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. His research interests have primarily focused on psychiatry and forensic psychiatry with the aim of exploring, describing, and understanding clinical realities, as well as questioning their structure and organizational functioning. This approach encourages her to develop empirical knowledge in psychiatric nursing while not overlooking the elements that pertain to the aesthetic, personal, ethical, and sociopolitical aspects of nursing care. His work is structured around two specific axes: the questions related to the epistemological dimensions and ethical issues of nursing care, and the questions related to violence and risk management in psychiatric settings.
