Biography

Dr Jonathan Gravel is a community emergency physician at Montfort Hospital in Ottawa and locums regularly across northern Ontario, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.

He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and is also one of the Base Hospital Physicians for the Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario (RPPEO).

Outside of his hospital work, he works as a mass gathering physician for Odyssey Medical as well as a telemedicine physician for PRAXES Medical Group.

He completed his medical school in Ottawa followed by residency training at the University of Toronto and McMaster University in Hamilton. In addition to this, he holds a master’s degree in epidemiology and community medicine and previously worked as a health economist.

His academic interests include pre-hospital, trauma and mass gathering/event medicine as well as the promotion of evidence-based treatments of substance use disorders in the emergency department; and most importantly, all things medical education.
