Biography

Sylvie Grosjean holds a PhD in communication psychology, cognition, and self-representation from the University of Nancy 2. (France). She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa. In recent years, Dr. Grosjean has collaborated on the development of a pragmatic approach to communication within work teams and organizations. The objective now is to analyze the role of communication in the actualization of cognitive and social processes (collective decision-making, coordination of actions, knowledge construction). Her current and future research builds on studies conducted in recent years that specifically focus on: the circulation of knowledge in organizational contexts, the coordination of actions within work teams, and the role of technological artifacts (information systems, workflows, etc.) and documents (digital or otherwise, reports, texts, etc.) in the coordination and/or cooperation of teams.
