Biography

Dr. Gratton currently works as a palliative care consultant at Montfort Hospital, a service she founded in 2011. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa's family medicine residency program, and in 2011 completed an additional year of specialization in palliative care with the University of Ottawa. She holds an academic position with the University of Ottawa's Division of Palliative Care as Assistant Professor, where she is responsible for coordinating teaching in palliative care at the pre-externship level of the Faculty of Medicine, and contributes to the teaching of outpatient medical students, residents and fellows in palliative care. She is involved in several palliative care research projects. Her particular interests include the integration of palliative care for non-cancerous diseases, the exploration of innovative methods of integrating palliative care into the continuum of care, communication in palliative care, and the special needs of Franco-Ontarians at the end of life.
