Biography

Wendy Peterson holds a PhD in nursing from McMaster University and is currently an assistant professor at the School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. The main objective of her research is to improve access to "mother/newborn" care, particularly for marginalized women. His research program is structured as follows: highlighting the disparities in access to perinatal services for marginalized women (pregnant and postpartum), examining the roles and responsibilities of licensed nurses as members of interprofessional teams in maternal care, and assessing current provisions to reduce disparities in access to perinatal care, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, access to care and its quality, as well as procedures aimed at reducing inappropriate interventions during labor and childbirth.
