Doctor William Hogg is a family physician and a professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He serves as a senior research advisor at the C.T. Lamont Research Centre in primary health care and as a researcher at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. In addition, Dr. Hogg serves as the chair of the board of directors of the North American Primary Care Research Group. (NAPCRG). Dr. Hogg has received numerous awards for his work in the fields of family medicine and health services research. The NAPCRG awarded him the Maurice Wood Prize in 2013, and the College of Family Physicians granted him the title of Researcher of the Year in Family Medicine in Canada in 2006.
When he is not engaged in research, William Hogg plays the drums in a rock and roll band made up of doctors. In about thirty years, this orchestra has raised $3,000,000 for charitable organizations in the Ottawa region. Doctor Hogg also enjoys playing hockey, spending time with family, and staying at his cottage.
