Dr. Geneviève Moineau – Board Member, Board of Directors of the Institut du Savoir Montfort
Dr. Geneviève Moineau is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in medical education and health systems development. She is currently Vice President of the World Federation for Medical Education, a professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, and a pediatric emergency physician at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
She has extensive experience in strategic leadership, having served as President and CEO of the Association of Canadian Medical Schools for more than ten years, where she spearheaded major pan-Canadian initiatives in medical education, health workforce planning, and educational innovation. She has also held leadership positions at Health Canada, contributing to public policies related to health human resources.
Throughout her career, Dr. Moineau has distinguished herself through her commitment to social responsibility in medical education, the quality of training, and the improvement of health care systems. She has led and contributed to landmark projects at the national and international levels, particularly in accreditation, medical workforce planning, and the development of training programs tailored to the needs of various populations, including minority communities and Indigenous peoples.
A proud Franco-Ontarian and deeply committed to her community, she wishes to continue her contribution as a member of the ISM Board of Directors. She envisions health education and research grounded in interprofessional collaboration, equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as the thoughtful use of digital innovations, including artificial intelligence.
On the ISM Board of Directors, she draws on her expertise in governance, medical education, and health systems development to support the evolution of the Institute’s academic mission, with a focus on making a tangible impact on healthcare and communities. Her commitment is characterized by a desire to actively contribute to the development of a more equitable, innovative, and population-centered health care system.
